Peyote Stitch; What's this?

Stitching is rightfully called Off-Loom Bead Weaving. It includes using a needle and beading thread (like Fireline, Nymo, etc.) and weaving the beads in a systematic "stitch". Some stitches are Peyote (also called Gourd Stitch by Native Americans), Brick (also called Comanche or Cheyenne Stitch by Native Americans), and Right Angle Weave.

Peyote stitch is an off-loom bead weaving technique. Peyote stitch may be worked with either an even or an odd number of beads per row. Both even and odd count peyote pieces can be woven as flat strips, in a flat round shape, or as a tube. The peyote stitch is a prerequisite for other off-loom beading styles.
