Stringing beads has always been a great pastime for people. It has helped many to reduce the stress of everyday life in a fun and creative way. You can use thousands of different types of beads to create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, anklets and much more. You can wear your creations, give them as gifts or even sell them to others. Beading is easy to learn and relatively inexpensive as a hobby. If you are new to beading, you should take the Beading 101 class taught by Robin. The following are descriptions of the classes we offer. Look through our online calendar for classes you may be interested in taking.
Beading 101 - You will learn about the materials and tools used for basic stringing, how to wire wrap earrings and pendants, and ending necklaces and bracelets with wire guards, crimps and crimp covers. You will have a complete necklace or bracelet and earring set by the end of the class!
Netting - Netting produces airy, flexible beadwork that resembles a net. It can be worked vertically, horizontally, or in the round. Learn to make beautiful necklaces in three-, five-, and seven-bead netting. The more beads used in each stitch, the larger the spaces in the beadwork and the looser the weave will be.
Peyote Stitch - Peyote stitch is an off-loom bead weaving technique. Peyote stitch may be worked with either an even or an odd number of beads per row. Both even and odd count peyote pieces can be woven as flat strips, in a flat round shape, or as a tube.
